We just took out the ham from the oven and omg it's soooooo good. We already ate a small piece, but I can't wait to gorge on it tomorrow when we have Christmas dinner. (So worth the eight hours in the oven)

I still can't believe it's Christmas today (in Finland Christmas eve is more important than the actual day... no idea why) but I'm sure the food and presents will make all the difference. xD

Almost, but not quite. Russians belong to the Russian Orthodox church, and they celebrate it on January 7th. Armenians (especially those from Armenia) belong to the Armenian Apostolic church and so they celebrate it on January 6th. There are also Catholic Armenians, and they celebrate it on December 25th with the rest of the non-Armenian world :3

The Russian Santa is called Dyed Moroz (grandfather frost) btw x) and he's always accompanied by his granddaughter Snegurochka (Snowmaiden)

I think I rambled a bit as well xD

Cool, is the Apostolic church a protestant church? I mean was it formed during the reformation period? Or is it closer to the orthodox church? (sorry for all the questions. ^_^;)

So I might have been pretty close in guessing the name if I had just translated straight from Finnish. =D

It's part of the Oriental Orthodoxy (in fact, in Arabic, it's called the Armenian Orthodox church). It's the world's oldest national church, formed when Armenia adopted Christianity as an official religion in 301AD (btw, it's the first country to do so) (and it's okay to ask questions, I'm happy to answer them when I know the answers xD)

And how is it in Finnish? :D

That really cool, I had no idea. =D I thought it was Rome that adopted Christianity first.

I think frost is the closest word for it in english, but we have a different word for when it gets really cold... Kind of hard to explain. ^_^;
