I got offered the job I applied for (I had the job interview today). I'm not feeling super excited about it though, I don't know what to make of that, as I thought I was ready for a change... Hmm. I have over the weekend to think about it before I have to let them know.

It seems Simon Pegg and company are going to make a River's of London tv show. On the one hand, yay! On the other hand, it's a bunch of white guys making a Rivers of London show. They'd better not whitewash it.

Nothing much else has been going on. I'm still really enjoying all kinds of D&D content and it's nice to have something I'm really excited about again.

I've watched 3 episodes of the Orville and it seems okay. I see why some people feel like it's more trek than Discovery, as the episode topics seem pretty trekky. I think I'll keep watching.

I saw Endgame and was annoyed with a lot of it. I was even more annoyed after I had read some meta about it. I especially hated what they did with Thor. Captain Marvel was my favourite part about the whole thing. I'm so here for more of her adventures as well as the next Black Panther but beyond that? I guess I'll go see the new Spiderman this summer as Homecoming was very cute and Tom Holland is fine, but after seeing the animated film I'm just mad we couldn't get Miles Morales instead

Ben Aaronovitch is apparently also involved, and given his previous track record of not letting it be e.g. something starred by Chris Pine, it should hopefully be okay. Last I heard, the writers' room had yet to be staffed. Let's hope they pick people who are not white guys for it!

I'm not a fan of Endgame either. Like most MCU movies, I had a good time while watching it just because of the spectacle, but the more I think about it afterwards the worse it gets. I liked the basic plot conceit, but they managed to cram in so many awful tropes and trends, it was like a bingo. The jokes about Thor and Natasha's fate left a sour taste in my mouth.

My D&D group had to take a break because our DM got pneumonia and had to be hospitalized :o We're back on track now (well, in the Underdark). I hope I can level up soon, I want to unlock more of my awesome druid spells.

Sorry for replying late af. :'D

I'm still level 2 and druid level 1, boo. :< though closing in on lvl 3. We've had bad luck with scheduling, which is partially to be expected with working adults, but I'm also a little annoyed at some players. It also sucks for the DM because he was really excited to try DM'ing for the first time.

Anyway... I'm Circle or the Land, from the mountains. And I'm a half-orc, socialized with humans, which I quite like. I've been trying to make friends with the NPC orc in our group.

Ask away, I don't mind! It's fun to have someone to talk to about this. :)

The main druid circles are Land, Moon, Dream and Shepherd. I think Circle of the Moon is the "best" if you want to be a fighter druid, but I chose Land because it is the more traditional druid character. The action is spell-based and there's a lot of woo nature stuff which I love. :D (I can hit monsters too but it's pretty pathetic even with my orc heritage. And my weapons... I have a little dagger and a sling :'D) You can also choose different paths under the Circle of the Land. I chose Mountain because it fits my character, story-wise, but I think it would be fun to be a Swamp druid who can cast gross spells.

I'd say it's been about 50/50 so far - we're playing Out of the Abyss, which is described as a rough campaign. Not because it's necessarily difficult (that's up to the DM of course :P) but because it's a pretty fixed story and you can't improvise with event order and stuff like that. I think it's both a good and a bad choice for a newbie DM, in a way? So, the campaign itself divides downtime/RPing and the fights pretty well.

What's your campaign like?

Congrats on the job offer! Even if you don't end up taking it, it's nice to have options. :)
