So I was innocently reading hockey things when I stumbled on a story about a Flyers junior player, who was accused of sexual assault last year and how the charges were dropped. The worst part was what one of the coaching staff members said:

"At the pro level, teams expect you to be an adult and act like one," Laperriere said. "He's got a good heart . . . Let's be honest, stuff like that has been happening forever. You can't get away with anything now. He can't put himself in those situations.

"He's been in trouble with this stuff, but hopefully that's all going to go away. Part of my job is telling him that he needs to learn from that. You need to be careful what you're doing. All of our prospects need to learn from his situation."

and then some bullshit after that when he tried to climb his way out of that hole. Not to mention some of the comments in the posts saying the usual things like: 'well he must be innocent because they didn't sentence him.' or 'the girl must have made the whole thing up because he was not judged guilty' etc etc.

If Briere isn't a Flyer next season I think I will happily turn my back on this team, even though Giroux is still there. The whole organization just seems super sketchy. (I'm not saying this couldn't happen to a player in another organization but still)
