It all started with [livejournal.com profile] arilyn9 who signed up to do 100 top 5 lists for some livejournal challenge thing. Then she complained about it to me and [livejournal.com profile] zelda_88 and in the end the three of us made a pact to see which one of us could make a hundred posts about random things first. (it's yet to be determined what the winner gets. Also I think it's highly likely that none of us will have the patience to stick with this thing until the end, but you never know.) So [livejournal.com profile] zelda_88 posted her first top 5 today and I didn't want to get behind this early so here is mine:

Top 5 cities I have visited:

5. Nara, Japan

I'm not sure how many times we visited there, but I think it was three or four times. Each time we had a lot of fun, the deer are totally adorable, as are the Japanese tourists feeding them. The views are gorgeous and you can learn a lot about history. (basically you could say this about any place in Japan though... xD)

4. Kyoto, Japan

Kyoto is the best! If you ever plan to visit Japan I'd recommend it every time. It's close to other great places to visit (lika Nara) and has everything you could want, shopping, sights, culture, amazing food, friendly people etc etc.

3. Chicago, USA

I had the best time while visiting here and I think there would have been a lot of stuff to do that we missed, although we were there for almost a week. I would definitely go back for another visit.

Can't skip the pizza! It really is as good as people always say. (even if it has the tomato sauce on top, which looks super weird to me)

2. Edinburgh, Scotland

When we went here with [livejournal.com profile] messy_kisses we both concluded that we would like to live there for a couple of years at least. I think that pretty much tells you how much I liked the city. =)

1. London, England

I also wouldn't mind living in London for a bit! There is always so much to do and see, it's crazy.

Special mention to the underground system. So convenient and relatively cheap.

So... 99 to go. This is going to be a piece of cake, right?

Chicago made your list! That's awesome.

I never used to think about it that much until I moved into the Chicagoland area and realized just how great a place it is. :D

and, yes. The pizza is totally yummy.

yes definitely, I had a great time there. I really wish we'd had more time to hang out though... I feel like we didn' really have enough time to get over that awkwardness of meeting someone for the first time :)

if I lived over there I would get sooo fat. I would just eat the pizza every day!!! :D

I really enjoyed getting to meet you and hanging out a bit. Like you said, I wish we would have had more time to get over being all awkward turtle with each other. But it was still great! JJ was really nice, too. At least we got an awesome concert out of the deal.

If we ever have the chance again, we should totally meet up. :D

Totally, meeting you was definitely worth the awkwardness =D and the concert was awesome even if my feet were killing me ^_^;

Absolutely! It would be fun. \0/

Ash damz youuuzzz! I should be sleeping but now I can't before I get my own first top5 thing out ;_;
And I've been trying to leave this comment for 15 minutes now with three different browsers and they all crashed because I tried to write on lj at least twice. My computer is getting on my nerves :/

But aa the pictures are so nice! I really wish I had the time and money to travel somewhere this summer, but no :( I'll have to wait till next spring :)

And ugh, This is kind of my fault yes... ^^; But I'll hope it'll be fun instead of tedious :)

I'm still waiting for the post. *hint hint* =D

I hope the problem isn't with your computer, because that would suck.

Me too. Being poor sucks. =P But yay for our upcoming trip \0/ Less than a year to go xD

So far it's been fun, so don't worry about it. =)

Hoo this was interesting to read, and the pics are really nice! **
If I do get to go to Japan in autumn, I'll definitely visit both Kyoto and Nara!
And uwah, now I want to visit London again! I've been there once,
but it was just a quick one-day visit, so you couldn't see much of the city.

And yeah, we'll see how long each of us is able to stick with this thing! :D

Thanks for saying that =)

You definitely should and I'm sure you will go many times. =D (you were going to Osaka, right?) I mean they are less than an hour away from each other, if I don't remember it completely wrong. You still haven't heard back from the university?

London is super awesome and I hope you'll get a chance to go there again and spend some more time exploring.

Let's try our best, who knows maybe we'll even finish? =D It could happen...

Yup, If I go, Osaka it is~ And yes, Nara and Kyoto are indeed really close to Osaka, so it should also be quite cheap to go to either of them. ^^ Nope, haven't heard anything back, but they should make the decision by the end of this month, so that's pretty soon I guess. But I know these last weeks and days will be pure hell as I've already been checking my e-mail pretty much daily (if not a couple of times a day!), so it's been really nerve-wracking.

London did seem awesome, so I'd go back anytime! (If I had the time and the money!)

Haha, let's try our best! :D

Would they make your top 5 list? =D I'd really recommend going to Edinburgh and spending a few days there, it's so awesome and when we went we really didn't have time to see it properly.
