Why would anyone feel the need to shorten Liam's name into Li???? His name's already only four letters long! /0\ Seriously though is this even canon, like has anyone from the band called him that? (I think seeing the nickname in a story might be one of the indicators that you are reading bad!fic)

I have my big exam tomorrow!!! Waaaaaah~ And after that I'm going home to mom and seeing my dog and my rats, yay! =D

I... think I have heard the band say both "Lou" and "Li"? But all nicknames should be used very, very sparingly in fic.

Lou I have heard and it even kind of makes sense because one might argue that saying Louis is a bit difficult, but for some reason I just don't like Li... (my own bias against nicknames I guess etc etc.) I just have too strong opinions sometimes. ^_^;

I don't have the evidence on hand right now, but I'm like super certain I've heard Zayn call him Li before. I think if it comes up in fic a couple times, it's ok. Depends on the scene and who says it, though.

Dude, no, I am super leery about nicknames in fic after the HIM/Bam fandom. All the 'Willa Walo" and "Bammie"~ Ugh. I understand your dislike, but think about Zayn calling him 'Li,' okay? Just imagine a fic where everyone else calls him Liam, but then Zayn calls him Li, and when he says it, it's said so ~intimately~ like only someone you're super close to says it and the others know better than to use it...

I can believe the shortened name in canon. I call my BFF Fi, sort for Fiona. It's just faster when you're so familiar with someone? But I feel the pain of something like that kicking you out of a fic flow :)
