I'm really fascinated with this whole, "omg Finland has awesome schools!" thing. I'm not sure if they actually are that good, although they don't suck either. I just don't know if they are any better than Swedish or Danish schools for example. That doesn't stop me from swelling with pride from time to time though, when people make documentaries like this one... >_>
I counted the people who have visited my Big bang fic, according to the stats option on LJ and people who actually went to the last part of the fic (so I'm supposing they read it all) is 506! Seems like an insanely big number to me. \0/ Whee~ I dunno if this makes me sound very annoying or something, but it was really nice to see so many people read my story. =D (I dunno though how accurate the LJ stats thing is, but still)
I also posted the fic on Archive of our own and that was a bitch to do, for some reason I don't really get how the html thing works on it... buuut, it's archived now and that was the whole point.
About NaNoWriMo... I skipped three days and now I'm pretty screwed. I managed to write about 2500 words today to bring me up to:

There is a chance I might be able to catch up during the weekend, but I dunno. *fingers crossed*

Date: 2011-11-12 01:08 am (UTC)I think it was some other thing, because there have been quite many documentaries made about the subject. This one was done last year, I think so I wouldn't have been able to post it earlier.

Date: 2011-11-12 02:07 am (UTC)Hmmm ok, the beginning with the text and the music just sounded really familiar.
I was actually going to go to sleep and watch this tomorrow or something but got stuck :D Really interesting stuff. And I can't deny that I'm feeling a little proud now too :D But also a little depressed because I don't have that high hopes that I will actually be able to make it among those "best and finest" that has the possibility to become teachers and I really would like to ;_;

Date: 2011-11-12 03:15 pm (UTC)Honestly? I actually do think it'd be better to go to the system where students would be separated to more advanced and less advanced groups. It has been tried, in several places with for example math and Finnish and the results have been very positive. It lessens the frustration of the advanced pupils when they get to work on more difficult problems and gives the others more time to focus on the basics. It's not going to be possible to go into the system in all subjects, since pupils that are good at math might not be good at languages for example, but doing it with some core subjects would be good. But with the way they keep cutting money from schools, nothing good is going to come out of anything :|
I'll shut up now nrgh the teacher in me is babblingno subject
(huh... osaan ramblettaa iteki.
