How about a brief introduction?

Introduction to what? I mean this is my journal so if people read this they should already know who I am, right?
Or an introduction to this meme? Well, I have done this in 2008 and thought it was time to see if I felt differently to any of the question, mostly just because I'm writing again. \0/

Fabulous! And what got you into fanfiction to begin with?

I got my first computer when I was 19 and went to university. I had used the internet really rarely before that and only for school stuff etc. So I was watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer at the time and started looking for photos of the cast members online. Somehow I ended up with fanfiction from some fansite. (If I remember this correctly) So BtVS was my first fandom.

We talked about slash with [livejournal.com profile] sherg (it was really embarrassing at first. xD) and she said she posts some stuff at Adultfanfiction and from there I found the HIM fiction... That sucked me in and I wrote my first stories for  [livejournal.com profile] __vam

I see. So what kind of fanfiction do you like to write?

I haven't written a lot compared to some prolific fanfic authors but there seems to be a trend where I end up writing pretty long stories with multiple parts. Also I tend to write happy fics, I've only written one story that didn't have a happy ending... ^_^;

Do you find writing easy? Hard? What are the aspects of writing you struggle most with?

When I started out it was really easy (but then again I pretty much sucked!) then I read a lot more fic and realised this and then I got completely blocked. Now I'm getting back to writing and hopefully I don't suck as much. =D

I find starting a story the most difficult and not just starting the process but then going back to the story and writing some more and so on. Opening the Word document can be really difficult for me sometimes, but usually when I get into the writing groove I'm able to produce a few thousand words pretty easily.

Write a few sentences or so of your favorite pairing or character.

Does this mean the people I have written about or just in general?
Right now I'm knee deep in Bandom so I would have to say that my favourite pairing is Brendon/Spencer. I think they make an adorable couple have very compatible personalities. (in fiction, I know they aren't together IRL) I like it that in fanon they aren't a very angsty couple, like you don't find a lot of fic where there is weird drama/cheating/self harm/break-ups etc and if there is even then the stories usually end happily.

My most favourite (can you even say that) character would be Spencer. I dunno why exactly, but maybe because in fanon he seems like a sensible and down to earth kind of guy and I like that about him. I guess I find him easy to identify with.

Are there any fanfiction clichés or trends you're sick of or just can't stand?

Hah, I read this rant a long time ago, written by this gay guy and he said that you can't scissor your fingers inside anyone's ass... So now whenever I see that in a story I always remember it and start thinking about the mechanics...

It's weird that I can't really think of anything right now! I think it says something about the quality of fic that I've had the good fortune to read. \0/

Are you guilty of any fanfiction clichés you hate? Or any other ones?

Well no, just because I couldn't really think of any clichés...
But I do write the whole, of you must be in love with this person you had sex with... You know that the sex is the culmination of ust and romance and all that sugary stuff, which is not very realistic.

What was the first fandom you wrote for, and do you still like/participate in it?

That was VIlle Valo/Bam Margera fandom and no I don't follow it or write for it anymore. I think the last time I wrote anything for the pairing was in 2007...

Name your OTPs or most frequently written pairings/characters and explain what it is about them that you love to write.

I just realised that I've only ever written RPS and that's weird. I think it's just that it's easier. Because they are real people we as fans and writers can't really know them and there is more leeway with the characters. I mean certain things do get established as fanon and if you don't follow those things you might be called out for being ooc, but still there is more freedom than there is with movie/tv/book characters. Especially writing about a book character would be so hard as we usually know them by heart, like we get to know their thoughts and everything.

And that didn't really answer the question at all... Well Brendon/Spencer is my bandom OTP and the only pairing I'm currently writing so it seems a bit redundant to write about them again. I just love their silly faces 'nuff said.

Do you read other people’s fanfic? If so, what do you find yourself reading the most?

You don't even need to ask! I've been reading like mad for the past 6 years! (wow it's been that long... I must be warped for life. xD)

I read a fic in quite a few fandoms. I just looked at my delicious and my top tags are
Bandom (multiple pairings), McKay/Sheppard from SGA, Kirk/Spock from Star Trek (omg do I even need to specify that?) Pinto aka Zach Quinto/Chris Pine, Arthur/Eames from Inception (but I don't really seek out new fics in this anymore) and my new fandom is Mark/Eduardo from the Social Network. I would also LOVE to read Harry/Ron or Ron/Draco fics but there are none that I haven't already read.

But I think out of all of these I've read the most McKay/Sheppard fics just because the fandom has amazing quality, hands down the best fics I'v ever read have been in this fandom. Not to overlook the fact that there is so much of it too! A fangirl could weep tears of happiness you guys.

I like epic length fics the most, like if a fic has less than 10,000 words I tend to look at it funny unless it's a PWP. I know I'm limiting myself and all that but I have my preferences. For this reason I don't read drabbles in general, only if I know the writer or something like that.  So because of the whole epic thing I like plotty fics or fics that make the characters go on a journey, change in some way etc. I like fics where people realise they are gay and then find their way into their first relationship and so on. I'm not a big fan of established relationship fics, because I think that takes half the fun right out of the story. So naturally I also like first-time fics with a burning passion and really like some awkwardness in sex and in the relationship in general.

AU's are awesome and so are crossovers. My favourite trope has to be the Hogwarts crossover, because who doesn't love thinking about which house which character would belong to?! Talking about tropes... Pretending to be married and forced to marry for some reason, waking up married and so on... I could read these all day long. Dunno why. Oh and kid!fic and Mpreg I love those too. Even if the latter seems to gross a lot of people out. ^_^

Name one thing you'd LOVE to write, but have been too afraid or shy to do.

D/s stuff. I just don't know enough and I'm afraid of making stupid mistakes... Also I'm a bit worried about doing research on the internet on the subject because I'm sure I'd end up with more traumas that it's worth. xD (my google-fu sucks) And maybe a Mpreg story, I've actually had a few ideas about this but really nobody but me wants to read that stuff. =D

Do you have trouble taking criticism? Or worse yet, do you have the dreaded bloated ego?

I don't have trouble per se, it's just that it kind of crushes my heart. ^_^; Like if something is criticized especially when it's not finished I immediately feel like the whole story must suck and there is no point in writing it anymore. I think I'm getting better about this though and am willing to fex the things that are pointed out etc to make the story work better.

When you write, is there anything that helps? Music? Quiet room?

I like the quiet when I write. I used to listen to music but now it's just distracting.

What inspires you?

Ehh... Nothing really. I guess the characters in general, like I want to explore them more or make them fall in love the way I want them to. xD And sometimes I get crossover ideas when I see a movie or something.

Like this movie trailer! Can you say you haven't read something similar in one of your fandoms? Especially if you like kid!fic.

Lastly, how would you sum up your fanfiction experiences and yourself as a writer?

I don't see what would make me stop reading fanfic to be honest, I mean I've already been doing it for so long. I think being in different fandoms has made me a better person who thinks about things differently and I wouldn't change that for the world.

I hope that as a writer I have gotten better over the years and now I really appreciate the institution that is beta reading. I could never post a piece of fanfic without having one anymore and I seriously cringe if I go back and read what I wrote like back in 2006...

And there you have it! \0/ That was a lot of fun. Now I need to go to bed, because I need to write an essay tomorrow morning... Argh.

I'm so, so happy that you are writing again and for this spesific pairing *_* And again I remembered that I've been meaning to go and read your vam stories, gosh I'm so slow :D Someday though.

I was laughing at how similar our reading tastes seem to be :D Apart from the fact that I have some more bizarre leanings than you though. And I would so read an mpreg fic by you! *nodnod* And I do hope someone (you!) would make that trailer into a fic! It would be so adorable.

I had something more to comment on while reading but guess if I remember it anymore :( Well anyways, I hope you'll be writing for a long ime to come ^_^

I'm happy about it too! I've missed writing and it's really nice that it's fun again. =) Heh~ I really wouldn't recommend reading those... ^_^;

What kind of bizarre leanings? Now you are making me curious. x) Hehe~ well maybe one day I will write the Mpreg fic... you never know about these things after all. And yeah that movie was pretty cute in general (yeah I DL it) and it would be all kinds of awesome as a fic (for some reason I think it should Pete/Patrick fic...)

That always happens to me too if I read a longer entry. So no worries. =D

I bet they are very good and you're just being modest :D

Oh I think we've talked about those. Mainly about the pairing choises as I do read brothercest and twincest and age difference etc. But I think that's pretty much it, so not so many differences :)
Hee you are talking like you already have an idea formed?
Ah, and considering the situtaion irl it would be somewhat easy to tie to it. But well a little older. But yeah, I think it would be really cute~

Uh not really. I mean they aren't horrible story wise but my English was not perfect then and just in general... Argh *embarrassed*

Right right, yeah we have talked about fanfic a lot haven't we? =D Awesomeness. How is the rest of your spring, are you super busy? I mean it would be nice to see you before summer holidays and all that. =)

Well... I did give it some thought but not like I have the whole thing planned or anything. ^_^; That's true! I hadn't thought about that when I first had Pete/Patrick in mind, but yeah I think the story would be very cute too...

Yep, but I bet they are still ok compared to many things I've read.

Never enough or too much :D Actually I'm pretty much super Not busy after the 7.4. (the day of doom on my seminar...) After that I'm just trying to manage to do a couple of book exams and be at the university ever thursday from 10-12... Until/if I get some work somewhere of course. And yes, it would be nice to see you too. I was just thinking about the same thing during the weekend. So we'll just have to come up with a time and place? Talking of wich, if you are interested Tampere kuplii will be held on 6.-10.4. this year if you are interested?

Jeij for more ideas! \o/ I think so too. I'm actually going to wait a while longer, till my busy weeks are over, and then go searching for some mid-after-divorce fics. It sounds so horrible seeing as it's actually happening to someone but well, they must exist already?

Oh and I'm so sorry for not answering your text! I was having lunch with a friend when it arrived so ofcourse I forgot when I didn't answer immidiately >.<; But thanks for the tip, I'll have to go and take a look :)
