I see this a LOT on [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets and now I'm curious... People either post secrets about how they would "hit that" about a character or a real person, or they bitch about how their friends/friends list lusts after a character or a person (in a sort of serious, YES I would have sex with this person, kind of way) and the bitching is usually about how they lust after a person the poster doesn't like. That's not really the point. The point is: Do people seriously want to have sex with celebrities(actors, musicians etc) and/or fictional characters (if the character was real)?

So the question is: If the object of your fangirling walked up to you and said something along the lines of: "Let's fuck" would you?

To me it seems very strange... I'm the first one to admit that I find a lot of people incredibly attractive, talented, charming and just hot, but it doesn't mean I'd want to have sex with them. (Waah~ I feel like a prude just saying it.) I think one reason why I feel like this is that it feels really insensitive and rude towards the person/celebrity in question. I mean how would you feel if there were dozens/hundreds/thousands of strangers saying they would want to have sex with you and commenting on your body etc. (okay some people surely would love that...) It's just that it makes the person into a sexual object and not a person. Like it doesn't matter how they feel about it. I mean you can say 'I'd hit that' or 'I'd have sex with him/her' but what if they don't want to? It especially bothers me when we are talking about a real person and not a character on TV/movies.

I mean I'm all for equality but I don't think women should adopt this kind of predatory attitude towards men or other women. I mean it's already frowned upon if a man says something like that about a woman. At least in 'polite company' or if it's not frowned upon it should be imo.

Well most of the people I know say that only jokingly and don't mean it 100% seriously. *shrugs* I at least usually just like it on the "thought stage" and don't even want it to become reality. So I suppose my reply to your question would be no.

I guess that to me even if someone says something like that even if they are only joking it's still pretty inappropriate. Dunno I have these weird limits in my head, because at the same time I have nothing against people saying someone is really hot etc... ^_^;

But thanks for sharing your thoughts on this! \0/

Uh, no I wouldn't. And I just got caught up in all the thoughts going on in my head but I try to make sense of it now :D

I mostly take those kinds of remarks as meaning that they like the way they look etc. Not that they'd actually Do him/her. I might be wrong offcourse.
For me sex really isn't something I'd do because I admire the way someone looks or something. I'd like to actually Know the person I end up in bed with.
And now that I think about it, if I go through the pictures I have of celebrities, not many of them actually even attract me sexually. I like and admire the way they look and so on, but I really can't imagine having sex with most of them. The whole thought just escapes me. Although now that I think about it, I have never had the habit of thinking about celebrities with Me. Even before I found out about fanfics etc my thoughts on that account usually had celebrities with other celebrities. Which some find offending too.

But if it was only about commenting on how they look they could just say that, you know like "wow that person is smokin' hot" etc...

On the whole I agree with you. Like I've never fantasized about some celebrity with me the whole idea is really foreign to me. It's interesting that you don't find people who you are a fan of sexually attractive, I wonder how common that is..

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's awesome that people humor me when I have these weird things I want to talk about. \0/

Hmm true. I have to say I never even thought about this until you mentioned it. :D I think i just though "hit that" was a short way of saying all those compliments but now I see it really ain't.

Yeah to mee too. Never seen any dreams either. Ah it's really hard to explain :/ Like, I can see that some people are attractive and hot and sexy and I really like to look at them, but they just don't appeal to me in That way. Some do, some don't. I guess i do have 'a type' after all, or something ^^;

I'm still thinking about this! And it's not weird it's interesting. ^_^

That's an interesting question... Mostly if I say someone could have me anytime, it's because of this image I have of him in my head. It's more than just looks [which also play part in lusting after someone]. Mostly I'd rather have the illusion of that someone than to really have sex with them. It's much more fun just to imagine it x) [Actually I really don't even imagine such things :D]
So my answer to the question: No, I wouldn't have sex with a celebrity in real life as I'd want to know them more than just by look.

So it's on a fantasy level, I bet that's the most common feeling people have.

Thanks for humoring me with this and sharing your thoughts! \0/
