Dear Yuletide writer

Hi, there fellow Yuletider. I'm super happy that someone matched with me and I hope writing a story will be easy and fun for you. :D I tried to come up with some general things and then a few more specific prompts and hopefully some of it makes sense... ^_^; Here goes:


- I would prefer the story to be slash, but gen is fine too (except like in Breakfast with Scot where the m/m is canon, there I wouldn't like gen)
- All ratings are fine, I love some smut in my fics, but I will happily read a G rated Yuletide story. If you want to write a story with a rating above PG-13 anything is fine if you avoid writing about heavy kink.
- I tried to only pick two characters per fandom, in the hopes of making matching easier, but I will love a story that has appearances from other canon characters. (not a must obviously)
- If none of my ideas work for you, don't worry about writing something completely different. I like that kind of surprises and I don't want writing a story for me to feel like a horrible chore.

Temeraire

I would be more than happy to get a story focusing on Laurence’s relationship with Granby and/or Tharkay. I would prefer slash but gen would be okay too. Because the books are mostly from Laurence’s pov it would be awesome if the story you wrote wasn’t.

I’m a big fan of ‘what if’ stories so for example what if Tharkay and/or Granby had stayed with Laurence in Australia, or what if Tharkay had gone with them to South America. Or what if dragon’s mated for longer periods of time (mated for life or stayed together until the egg(s) hatched etc) and during that time the captains were considered to be ‘married’ by the corps. Or what if Tharkay had stayed in Australia and gotten one of the dragons from the eggs? I think I’m getting too specific but hopefully this helps you even a little bit. Basically I'd love a story that is a canon au.

But if these ideas seem like too much work for a short story I also love small character moments. Then gen is fine. I would love to read something about how Granby felt about Iskierka matchmaking him to the Inca(? I don't have book with me right now) ruler for example, or  what Tharkay has been up to while the other two were in the Americas.

I haven't read Blood of Tyrants yet, but I should get it soon, so I will edit this out later. It is fine to include details from that book if it inspired you especially, because I will definitely have read it by the reveals.

Breakfast With Scot

I love this movie and I've watched it at least four times... :D It's one of my feel good movies, so I would hate to read a super angsty story about it. Although, if you want to write a story about the time Eric was hurt and had to quit hockey and how Sam took care of him... I would love to read that. So I guess angst is fine if there is a happy ending. :)

Basically I would like a story about Eric and Sam, what they are like together. The movie was super concentrated on Scot and them dealing with the situation, so Eric/Sam relationship didn't really have much room. So I would love a story about them before Scot came into their life and how they worked together back then (there is room for angst here too obviously, with how closeted Eric was even during the movie and I won't mind if you want to deal with that)

But I would also like a story that is set post movie. Like we see little snippets about their life during the credits and those are adorable. Like how Scot went back to figure skating etc. So writing about their family life is great too, if you want to write a slice of life snippet or something fluffy.


Mighty Ducks

Personally I was sad how they kept making Adam's role smaller and smaller as the movies went on, so a story focusing on him would be awesome, or a story where I get to see Charlie appreciate Adam for how awesome he is. :D So if you don't want to do slash, a story set during canon would be perfect, where they are just friends. I know it's kind of silly but Adam was my favourite character, so as long as you don't bash him, I will love what you write.

I would love future fic for this fandom. I want to know what happened to them after they graduated high school? What would they be like as adults? Like did Adam become a NHL player? What if he came back to Minnesota and met with Charlie again. Is Charlie a coach maybe? Does he run that hockey shop?

Of course I would love a slash story about the boys, like maybe they bump into each other and then go on an awkward first date? Or what if they are already together and Adam becomes the first NHL player to come out?

You could also write a story set in high school of course. The whole dorm thing etc. :D I don't know if you know this, but high school hockey is a big deal in Minnesota so the really good players are kind of local celebrities already and the college players definitely are well known and followed. So a story set in college would be fun too (Do they play for the Gophers?)


Dragon Age - Various Authors

I requested fic about Cole and Rhys, because I thought their relationship was super interesting. I also keep thinking about the books in terms of the games and I felt like Cole would have been a romancable character if Rhys was our main character. So like with all my requests, I would love a slash story about them. Pre-slash or gen is fine too of course.

I don't actually have many specific requests or prompts in mind... maybe how things could have gone differently if Rhys had paid more attention to Cole? Or what if Cole snuck (wait, is it sneaked?) into Rhys' room, as he was wont to? Or  what if Cole had taken a body like other spirits demons have done and Rhys met him like that (like everyone could see him etc)? Idk, anything about these two would be great. I just really enjoyed them in Asunder and I would love to read more about them. Post canon, pre-canon, whatever you think is best.
