oanjaUrgh, why are you so awesome? I just spent the whole day watching this show and I'm now all caught up. I'm pretty proud of myself for even giving this show a chance because I hate horror movies and tv shows in general. I think it helped that this show isn't really scary in a sense that would bother me, as it leans more towards suspence and pretty gory violence, instead of trying to give the viewer a heartattack when something scary rushes the screen etc.
I also find the characters really interesting, if not very relatable. They keep doing stupid shit for one and being eaten by zombies, when I think it could have been avoided etc, but still! What is annoying is that the female characters aren't really allowed to do much, as it seems that they regressed right back to the stone ages where the women stay at home and cook/clean while the men go out and hunt/gather/kill zombies.
And it kind of bugs me that I have read this article 7 Scientific Reasons a Zombie Outbreak Would Fail (Quickly) because now I just keep thinking 'that would never actually happen' and it's harder to be immersed in the world.

This is the main character Rick. He has a big gun...
He likes to shoot things with it, even when it almost always just makes things worse
That's Glenn with Rick there. He's awesome, but doesn't get enough screen time because Rick's family drama takes up most of the show time, when they aren't killing zombies or getting killed.
He's seriously the best strategic planner they have... it's kind of sad really how rarely people ask him what they should be doing.
This is Dale and he's extra special kind of awesome. (*rant about spoilery stuff*) but the actor looks really familiar, I wonder where I've seen him before.
But Daryl is my favourite. In all his redneck glory. He usually uses his brain and doesn't get involved in other people's drama.
Also he has a crossbow (inset 'your argument is invalid' joke here), which is the best weapon to have against zombies and I have no idea why all of the characters haven't moved on from guns to these... Everyone should have a bow and maybe a sword to fight zombies. (guns are bad because they are loud and sound attracts more zombies and you won't run out of bullets. I'm actually amazed that the characters still have any left the way they keep on shooting things willy nilly)

I would definitely pick him if I had the chance to pick one character from this show to try and survive and zombie apocalypse with.
For some reason this is the most popular slash pairing for Daryl... I'm not really complaining but they don't really interact with each other on the show. But on the other hand Daryl doesn't really hang out with anyone much...
I wish there was fic for this pairing though... somehow in my head it makes perfect sense,
In conclusion, awesome Daryl is awesome and I might have a slight fandom crush on him.
But you know I do watch it for the plot... honest.

Heh, I went "Whaat?!?" At the end when I realised that the guy on the bottom, Darryl, is not the main character of this :D It's funny how tumblr with their fandom character preferences can fool you : D
