Don't they realise that my whole fandom life is in there!!! /0\ Seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I'm trying like an insane person to find an alternative bookmarking site before I lose everything. D=

And I thought I had a good day before this...


That is me, running around like an idiot (well figuratively) after a new home for my bookmarks. Thank you Yahoo for ruining everything. A lovely Christmas present indeed.

If you find a site, let me know. This was my exact reaction. I love that they buy a website only to shut it down. Way to be dicks, Yahoo. Maybe they should be firing all of their 'reporters' who 'report' complete bullshit and opinion rather than actual news instead.

I will, I just hope there is so time to do this. I'm worried that delicious could be gone any day now... I couldn't agree with you more on the Yahoo thing, I mean someone said in the comments of the article I linked that delicious is/was in the top 100 most popular internet programs (that might be the wrong word) and what do they do with it... Well I guess it's not really the kind of thing that will make a lot of money.

I'm trying http://pinboard.in It costs $8 to join, which is both annoying and also reassuring that they're doing something to gain revenue to ensure the service remains. They haven't finished importing my bookmarks yet, but they're having a serious influx of former delicious users right now, so they're running sloooooow. I'll update you to let you know how well it functions once everything's in place with my bookmarks. It looks pretty good, so far, and they refund your money if you aren't happy with the service.

It certainly is not D: How does the diigo site work? I saw that you could log in with yahoo id, does it import delicious in? I saw the comment about pinboard but I don't have paypal or anything so that might be a little hard for me...

Ah your way worse of then D: I mainly only have bandom, Inception and startrek things bookmarked as long as fandom goes. I think I'll have to try and at least bookmark the reclists etc. to browser bookmarks >.<

Yep. The only yahoo! related thing I ever made myself get to know and use and well, after this? I'll avoid Yahoo! like plague >.<;

I'm not sure how it works, or at least I haven't had any luck with importing my bookmarks yet. But I would be so happy if this new thing is true!

I've read other people recommending that too, so I might get an account later if it turns out delicious is really going bust, because now they are saying it's not happening here: http://www.geekosystem.com/delicious-not-shutting-down/ so I don't know what is true. =/ But you know it would be awesome to hear what it's like, for instance if it's better than delicious, then I might as well get one too. =)

Oh that was what I was hoping for. That some other company would start running it. But if that happens maybe something else will happen and change the site too.

But anyway I made a diigo user already and have the diigolet in my bookmarks and tried to import my delicious tags there too. I think I'll keep using delicious, because I'm lazy to learn new things, but will keep the other one there too, just in case.
